New Zealand Fishing Soft Bait
Take it easy
Historically, New Zealand snapper fisheries involved mostly natural bait, sinkers heavy monofilament lines. Drop anchor and release the bait. Then came softbaits, jerkshads, swimming smooth and chub – all terms that ago few years, were the subject under American fishermen. But the advent of the braid (Dyneema) line gave the fisherman the opportunity to obtain a small jighead (lead-weighted hooks) to the seabed, for example, a softbait 5 inches, a method that is perfectly suited to our conditions.
The soft bait seems a fish, swims like a fish smells and fish attractants that encourage to prevent biting. Snapper, once believed to be scavengers, predators know that they are now – on strike softbaits actually pursuing, which is one of the reasons for soft baits are so effective. Fishermen report catching larger fish method and in places where it had never fish previously.
Here's how:
Most soft Bait Fishing is drifting.
Chart where the ship is drift (usually on the structure or the increased load of fish on the worm beds Waitemata start of the season or the job security of food bait snapper below).
Find the bottom of the sea with the bait, keep the line slack and give the lure a slight contraction as they slowly recover the line as the boat drifts toward the decoy.
Fish often drop so spool up, but not widely used, is more appropriate for these fishing.
Most use a small spinning reel with a capacity of 150 meters of braid, usually shot over braided and monofilament support, un 7 foot rod that does not rigid but with some lift in the butt section, because the leader of 1.5 to 2 meters fluorocarbon trace of tensile strength 15 £ 20 (fluorocarbon has abrasion resistance and low visibility).
