Striped bass (Merida) Saltwater Fishing
Due to the popularity of fishing for striped bass (also known as striper), these species have been introduced in many reservoirs of large oilfields in the United States.
However, this species is native to salt water and is found naturally along the coast this, populating the Atlantic coast from north to Nova Scotia to the southern tip of Florida. They can be easily caught as far north as Hudson Bay, too.
Striper saltwater fishing is a particularly popular sport in the area of the Chesapeake Bay and its tributaries, Virginia. In fact, many fishermen settled to await the return of striped bass soon after spawning activity to the north each year in May, eager to grab that first shows.
This influx into the bay is usually a good measure of what can be seen in terms of size of striped bass. Striper fishing salt water samples regularly produces more than 50 pounds and four feet long. For this reason, the established rules on fishing in the area of the Chesapeake Bay is not so difficult to comply (with the exception want to attract more!).
The daily limit for the first half of May is a single striper measuring at least 32 inches. From mid-May to A mid-June, increasing the ceiling of two, or both between 18 and 28 inches long or one of this size and a second measuring over 32 inches.
Can be undertaken using several different baits, and the choice is usually based on personal preference of a fisherman. Clams, anchovies, nightcrawlers, eels, mosquito larvae, sand worms, herring, liver, shad, chicken, and menhaden everyone can be great bait for striper saltwater fishing, just to name a few. Basically, the striped bass are opportunistic feeders and find it easier to catch can be found, so most of the work baits to attract their attention.
Interestingly, during the winter months, when the oceans become too cold for his liking, stripers migrate into freshwater environments, traveling hundreds of miles upstream to find a warmer climate until the next spring.
During the winter, fishing for striped bass is more salty water competent in the southern states, with its migratory pattern of taking them to areas along the East Coast from the Carolinas and the Hudson River in New York. However, during the summer months, you are further north, very concentrated near Long Island in New York and parts of Rhode Island and Massachusetts, although they can be traced to the southern and northern New Jersey through Maine, and even in Canadian waters.
