Fishing for our future

In the culture of "No Child Left Behind" are leaving countless children in the dust of our inattention, and on the swings of media leadership. Beyond standardized testing and control of social work, our children need parents and friends to spend better quality of life while teaching lessons from person to person, hand to hand, and life line by line. How we do this? By taking our kids fishing. Sounds like a simple solution to a complex problem, but it would be a great first step towards a healthy society.

Fishing Teaches Peace

Required stuff for fishing, and a reel, tackle and bait, are quiet, peace and patience. Very few activities give our children these important skills and challenge. The American children have been fed by a society out of control that has allowed short attention spans, the need for constant stimulation and the inability to sit quietly. Take the kids fishing from an early age can teach them the good feelings that come from being at peace. They focus on a cork or learning broadcasting can be a rewarding life experience that shows something that has to be a tone, moving or singing to be a worthwhile exercise.

Fishing Teaches Value

The children have been entertained by the media through each stage of development. Baby sitters plop in front of television, parents have DVD players in their vehicles and some restaurants even have "family sections" where movies play while the kids eat. Our ability to have a dinner conversation, cows have a unit or even talk about the days events has decreased. However, fishing is relational act. This is the teaching (learning how to cast? Someone taught you) and talk. It is a good time to share stories of children with children and make memories of the things that catches and escape. Far from the hustle of the city, spend some time together creating a sense of community and objectives common. The skills your child learns from this experience will help them relate to others, as time passes.

Fishing Teaches Environmental Care

Our children live in a world of video, usually disconnected from physical reality. Fishing help reconnect to the earth someday will be in charge of caring. If your hearing a robin song, or see how flying squirrels from tree to tree or realize the life in the pond is fished in the good memories of nature can result in a desire to care for the world around them. When fishing, children can see first hand the problems caused by litter, pollution and selfish use of the land. They can also begin to realize how precious our ecosystem is and why it needs to be a part of conservation. They can also learn about animals, physical science and trees and plants, while out hiking. Fishing is a way to teach the whole world of information, in time to save the world.

Young people do not need more CD's, games or talking gadgets. They need time with people, share the good things of life and casting a line in your future.
