Care of freshwater fish – Tools you must have

If you just started in the aquarium hobby, you may want to consider getting a fish to water sweet to start. They are easier to care for than saltwater fish and usually can withstand different water conditions. This does not mean that you should not take care of them, just makes it easier to keep fish. When deciding on what type of fish to get, you should get the fish that are similar in needs. Get fish that need the same kind of water temperature and pH. Also get fish that are similar in size. If ever in your tank and find the smallest fish missing, another probably ate it.

When you buy a tank a couple of things to achieve. Get gravel or something similar to the baseline of tank. You will also need a filter and possibly a heater, depending on the fish.

Once you get the fish, you have to feed. As any pet, which will rely on you for their basic needs. However, the fish are easier to care for a dog or cat. Freshwater fish need only be fed twice a day and only give a small amount. Foods should be eaten within five minutes they give it to them. More and it was too. You risk over-feeding and tank contamination with toxins. If you put too much food in the tank, remove with a net.

The water of the tank must be carefully examined. It should be tested once a week to ensure you have the proper pH level for fish to live, the temperature must also be constantly monitored. If any of these is off, it can cause stress to fish, which will put them in danger.

When it comes to changing the water, only third change every two to three weeks. When done this way so as not to disturb the fish and keep them so relaxed in their environment. Use a spoon to remove the water and take everything that has no place in the tank. If you see any debris or waste, remove it immediately. Check the new water temperature. Hopes that this water is within two degrees of tank water.

Clean the sides of the tank and all nozzles to algae build up. You should scrub the sides of the tank periodically to avoid a dirty tank.

When it comes to the filter, consult the manual or the manufacturer's website for recommendation on when to change it. Filters tend to collect food scraps and waste. They must be clean, because if not, the water is not filtered properly.

Do not add too many new fish for a deposit immediately. That the fish is usually each other before starting the assembly of an entire community under water in the freshwater tank. Get water fish that can handle different conditions easier to start what will last longer. Beware of freshwater fish and care for them properly. You may have many good years with the fish, if you do.
