The Seventh Seal: The Meisterstuck by legendary filmmaker Ingmar Bergman features Chess at the iconic beach scene with Max von Sydow. The actor represents a medieval knight who happens after death in a cold northern beach. Both have one sitting and start a game of chess. Sydow is playing for his life. This is far from the classic scene from the movie beach where you have girls wearing rags scarce drinking umbrella drinks Hawaiian fantastic, but it's an unforgettable scene, a must for all movie fans.
And God created women: Brigitte Bardot at its best, need we say more? Only 21 in this movie by Roger Vadim, the French sex symbol made this movie. Playing a strong and shapely young thing wandering around the beaches of St. Tropez, Bardot fascinated millions of viewers.
Beach Blanket Bingo: Any list of movies beach would not be the same without Annette Funicello and Frankie Avalon, once the idol of teenage beach movie era. In this fourth installment, we have motorcycle gangs, a siren and even Buster Keaton makes a brief cameo. You can view all movies Funicello and Avalon on the complimentary beach oldies TV channels satellite.
Blue Hawaii: Elvis, tanned and buff, stars in this film. Blue Hawaii is actually the first of three movies in Hawaii, and some might argue that it is better to Presley. In the film, King GI plays a fun loving and just wants to get some sun and surf.
Splash: Tom Hanks falls off a boat and lands on a sandy beach. He encounters a mermaid, played by Daryl Hannah. This is the beginning of a fun romantic mischief addressed by Ron Howard. As for beach movies go, you can not get much better than sirens and Tom Hanks.
The Big Lebowski: The Dude, played to perfection by Jeff Bridges reported from the ashes of his friend in the great Pacific Ocean. There are large photographs of the sea and can not forget the accompanying praise, nor can forget the part where the ashes to fly again proceed in the face Dude. This is classic Coen brothers film, not to be missed, but often is transmitted in the satellite TV, check their lists.
The Beach: Leo DiCaprio and his two French friends find a beach paradise unscathed, far from the tourist crowds exasperating in Phuket. The place is beautiful, really impressive (which requires the film to be seen in anything less than HD) and also deadly. Things are not in paradise what they seem.
The Talented Mr. Ripley Minghella Italian background is impressive impeccable. The amazing deep blue ocean, sun and Jude Law and Gwyneth Paltrow playing the pair deliciously rich and spoiled Dickie and Marge make this film a real visual delight.
