Crappie Templates
When you start looking at fishing for crappie, you may have noticed the wide range available for bait. Although there is no substitute bait the most popular artificial bait is by far the template crappie.
There are literally thousands of varieties of templates that are available for crappie fishing. While some anglers swear by a certain type, color or size, but the smart fisherman address box contains a variety. Each situation only you are in should warrant a different type of template.
Different types of templates
Bodies – The body of the template is in a variety of types including rubber, plastic, marabou, hair, rubber bands, thread, sequins, chenille, and many other types of materials.
Colas – curly tails, curly tails, long tails and triple tails
Heads – lead heads, floating heads, heads and standing dive.
Colors – Red, blue, silver, pink, orange, white, green, and clear, just to name a few.
If you have difficulty in recognizing the types of templates crappie you want at first, a lot of shops that will offer a pre-made kits that include various colors, types and sizes of crappie templates. This way you do not have to guess what better. Once each type is used within the kit, you can return to the store and buy specific types worked best for you.
Advantages in the use of templates
Because each part of a template is independent, you can add variety to your bait through the use of heads of different colors with different colored bodies and tails. The number of different color variations are almost endless.
Templates also make it easy to change the bait. Just change the body into the head template and you're done. Another advantage is the fact that the new bait need not be tied to every time you catch a fish. This is especially important when using trolling or more than one pole at a time. Otherwise, you may find yourself in an overwhelming situation, having to mange posts in the water, reel in fish in these poles, bait and tie again, at the same time.
Perhaps the biggest advantage: they never die templates. For a slight tugging or pulling motion, its staff will come alive with movement of each and every time.
You've just got to learn how to make your template look "natural" movement. Simulating the natural movement of bait is how to build templates, and you can increase further by the "technique" is used to fish with them.
