Is this medicine safe for diving?
I wonder if "Ibumax" – (a painkiller) and "Sudafed (a decongestant) is safe to use before and after diving or diving. I'm looking for answers preferably diving medical specialists … if possible. I'm thinking of putting in my first aid kit for diving, so I want to be sure.
Sure you can put in your kit for emergencies or problems after a dive, but I do not think about diving after taking them all. Both drugs can cause narcosis or at least a "dream" type effect, more depth Surface the diver normally experiences. There is some pain and sinus medications that will not cause this, but usually only by perscription. In addition, Sudafed can make the experience what is called rebound. Their nasal passages clear, yes, but disappear when the drugs can be even more congested than before you took them. What you may want to include in your team is a saline nasal spray. Its effect is somewhat smaller decongestant that medicines and Sudafed but not zero causes rebound. Not Dive problems using either before or after a dive.
