how to stop the puppy biting older dog drive?
I have a 3-year yellow lab we adopted from the Humane Society. She has always been very submissive and a wonderful family member. A month ago we got a black lab puppy, and although it is very smart and seems to learn quickly, I'm having problems with him biting my older dog too in the ears and neck to the point that your ears are hurting her and is bleeding. She do not cry to let you know that he is hurting, but she PIN him when we are away. I understand that Play dog may seem violent, but when together Abroad, his hackles rise when it is put in place, it shall conform to the face, and yet goes back more. never actually meet one another because the constant espionage of their young. Guess who I wonder what I can do to ensure that there will be a happy home for these two, and make sure he doesn't hurt over his ears.
Dogs do not have long-term memory to speak. have to catch the puppy in the act and discipline immediately. Some may say that will emerge of behavior, but it has to assert itself as the dominant figure in the home because the other dog does not seem that it will. good luck
