rainbow trout fishing lures
What equipment is needed to fish for rainbow trout in a lake?

I have not really fish ever, but it will be this weekend in the north Washington state. What kind of things I need, lures, equipment, bait, hooks, etc? Let the fish from the coast and also the canoes. Thank you.

If you already have a Fishing Rod, check the status of the line, if you have more than 2-3 years old, have been stored where it gets hot (garage or shed) or where a lot of sun (UV degrades mono line) is time to replace. In the near Rod reel seat (handle) is made reccomendations for Size line. If you do not have a configuration / Rod Reel basic unit can be purchased at any decent sporting goods store or if you feel a little adventerous try a pawn shop, we have found some real finds here. Go to a store and buy a dollar of small parts tray / divided tray with lid well adjusted, cheapest place to get them and it might save a few bucks. I found my favorite in the Harbor Freight tools. A small tool bag works well too. We do not recommend the classic "Tackle Box" as spill trays are easier when dropped or overturned. Now that you have a place to put your stuff, what to put in it. Allows easy, a tour package fitting complement to its line, a couple packs of sliding egg sinkers (dont get too large, you can always add a second), a spool of main line, about 4 pounds is a good start, a couple of packages of hooks (I like using a fine wire, long stalk, fly fishing hook streamers float easier with floating bait (more on this later)). …… HMMMM for bait have to go with the bait feeding or any alternative to putty floating bait, Gulp works well for me, as white fluorescent pink, chartruse, and maybee color. Or pasta, or the eggs, eggs are good because easy to handle and last longer. Use just enough to float the hook too large and the hook GLOP deply be too buried in she. 1 / 2 a worm and a mini marshmallow bait is always a classic. No need to use the tracker such a waste. For bait I'd take a couple of tablespoons medium, Chrome works most of the time, a Roostertail / Bangtail in a few colors are brown, red, green. And it should have (still carry one despite been fishing and line linking for 35 years) a knotted book / booklet. Trust me, unless you know how to tie a knot in the line MONOFILIMENT is almost impossible, especially if you want to stay tied. Bummer to lose a real keeper and discover that it was the knot that has failed. A small group of finger nail clippers make the cut line MONOFILIMENT real breeze, they dont weigh anything or cost much. Note most of the gear is not catching fish it is discovered fishermen. Keep it simple, if we lose (and will) its not by much, is easy to replace almost any gas station that advertises fishing gear (good place to check what works for the area while they are filling the cooler with beer and a microwave pump casing of a burrito). Expensive appliances will come later as your experience grows. A 4 "piece of string, as a correspondent for fish (gotta have good thoughts). Above all, have a good time. And remember that no fishing is called capture for a reason.
