What is the best way to discover the nightlife in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil? Websites with recommendations?

I'll be living in Rio de Janeiro in the month of August and I want to fully enjoy cultural life, while I'm here. What I'm looking for are tips on where I can find recommendations for events, concerts, art openings, film screenings, etc. I am particularly interested in unconventional events, ie not huge (and expensive) concerts and festivals. Any website or magazine you should pay attention? I speak Portuguese, so it's not a problem.
