What are the chances of Rio de Janeiro after being selected to host the summer Olympics in 2016?
Will we ever see a Olympics hosted by a South American or African city? I have no personal connection to one of these continents, as I am an American of European descent. But since the Olympics are a Gaam for all inhabitants of the world, I believe that every part of thhe world should have the opportunity to host. Almost happened in 1968 when Mexico City hosted, which is Latin America, but not South America. But it will never really happen?
like other 4 cities that are in the race for hosting the 2016 Olympic Games, Rio de Janeiro is just as likely to get the exclusive right. There are three factors that go into that city to win. One, for sentimental reasons and what was published, no country in South America has never staged the Olympics. (Buenos Aires, Argentina was the closest in securing the Olympics when they lost by one vote in the last round of voting to Melbourne, Australia for the Olympics 1956. It was also the last city in South America to be included in the final list, the 2004 Olympic Games was in Athens, Greece). Second, welcomed successful Pan American Games in 2007. and, finally, will host the final of the Second Cup soccer in 2014. With these factors, Rio de Janeiro will give Chicago in tougher competition come October 2009 in Copenhagen, Denmark, during a session of the IOC headquarters in 2016 Olympics will be announced. And yes, I'm also hoping that it will host the 2016 Olympic Games.
What to do in Rio this month?
