Not to say that an adult cat does not requires time and attention, but are usually much easier to care for a baby kitten.
Once you have all questions answered, feel a little more informed about what kind of cat you want to buy. You can always go to different pet stores or breeders, and ask all questions about the breed you imaginable. You can also talk with friends or family members who have their own cats, which have an immense amount of information that can be more than happy to share with you if you ask.
