Fishing for salmon in Alaska

Alaska is home to the largest sport caught king salmon ever. With a weight of 97 pounds. 4 oz, this magnificent specimen taken from the Kenai River is what the Alaska salmon fishing dreams are made. For this reason, fishermen from all over are attracted to Alaska hoping to bring home their tales of fishing.

The cold, crystal clear waters of the Kenai River are home to many species of trophy fish such as salmon, Rainbow Trout and Char. At the height of a run of sockeye salmon, these fish are so abundant that all you have to do is look down at the clear waters to see sport fishing many making their way through. In fact, salmon are so abundant that one of the great legends of Alaska says that salmon runs so thick you can walk their backs.

With all this generosity, it is no wonder that Alaska has become the premier destination for fishermen, both beginners and experienced. Dar accommodate the flood of eager anglers during the peak fishing season in Alaska (the high season runs from June to August), has led to the establishment of lodges guided fishing and fishing with the primary objective of offering its guests fishing vacation of your dreams.

Many of these establishments offering accommodation exuberant nature that are within feet of the main points of fishing. Do not worry about these issues is full of people however. Located on private property, many Lodges are let out to one group at a time which means that you and your friends or family fishermen miles only. And many of these main points are accessible only by boat or plane. There are no residents of the area and no access roads. Now that is vacation!

You can fish in clear water and loaded all type of salmon including King Salmon (Chinook) Salmon Silver (silver), Red Salmon (sockeye), Chum salmon (dog) and Pink Salmon (Humpies) to your heart's content. Surprisingly, it is estimated that the catch 10 to 20 salmon per day is not uncommon in some parts of the Kenai River. You will only be able to maintain its limit, of course, but you can catch and release fish until you are too tired to fish. Always check local regulations and ensure that have a fishing license.

Are you going to visit Alaska and I would do a little salmon fishing, but do not want to spend a whole week for the sport? Maybe a letter from a full day with a guided tour would be perfect for you. On these trips, experienced and knowledgeable guides who live incredible fishing spots in the Kenai, or one of many other rivers and streams in Alaska. Once there, they help you through every step of the way to ensure that your experience in fishing for salmon in Alaska is unforgettable.

Interested? Sure they are. Why not take some time to see what an Alaska salmon fishing vacation may have in store for you. Have fun!

Where can i find a guide that will fly me and my two friends out into the back country for survival camping?

We want to go somewhere like the Yukon, Alaska, the Pacific Northwest or anywhere else where we can hunt, fish, trap and survive for two weeks without any other human interaction. Obviously Alaska would be more expensive, but any advice or leads would be great. I can’t seem to find a good site on the internet for a company that will help get you set up and maybe offer some training regarding the specific area’s edible flora and fauna.

since I left alaska I cant remember the out fitters, but you can check on line. twin lakes area is a good spot , big lake is too crowed, but you can also look around talkeetna there will be some good connections there.

check out the smaller cities, anything that is based out of anchorage is probably over rated and over priced.

seward and homer are good jump off points.

and anywhere in the panhandle is gonna be good.

Alaska fishing trips: The Perfect Medicine for Burnout!

Are you a fisherman trapped in a concrete jungle? Is it time to rejuvenate the soul of your fisherman an Alaska fishing trip?

Or maybe you've never tried fishing, but you are looking for an escape again? Something to remove blood and make you feel alive again.

There is an answer: Alaska fishing trips!

Imagine submitting a monster King salmon? Some of these beauties can weigh nearly 100 pounds. Or maybe a Pacific halibut is 300 pounds more your style? Or maybe fly fishing rainbow trout is the perfect medicine for what's wrong?

Whether a fat salmon, a mere monster, or a brilliant river trout, Alaska fishing trips offer a wide range of fishing adventures.

In 1959, Alaska became 49th state in the United States. Before that time, Alaska belonged to Russian fur traders. In 1867, U.S. politician, William Seward, encouraged United States to buy Alaska for a mere $ 7.2 million. At that time, the purchase was considered silly; Seward's folly, it was called. But Seward has had the last laughter.

Seward must have been a fisherman, who must have seen the potential of some of the best fishing adventures in the world. With its vast ocean coastline, unspoiled lakes and crystalline water ice, Alaska is home to dozens of species of fish such as Arctic char, Dolly Varden, Arctic grayling, rockfish, rainbow trout, pike, salmon of silver and 400 pounds of salmon sharks.

ocean fishing cards run out all main ports. Even the cruise lines can be connected (sorry the pun) with Alaska fishing trips. Just ask at the excursion desk. And it is advisable to book early, while in the vessel as the cards are sold fast! Remember, you must buy a fishing license, too.

The Alaskan government has very detailed strict fishing laws. Your fishing guide can inform regional regulations on Alaska fishing trips: the capture and transport of Alaskan fish species, fishing gear authorized for sport, fly and ice fishing, fish bait and requirements allowed regular-season weight y. Alaskan regulations even cover the use of gaffs and sexual abuse or waste of fish.

If your total peace and quiet you need, try a remote destination, such as the Anvik River Lodge located 450 miles from Anchorage. Directed by family Hickson, this isolated fishing lodge is one of the most popular fishing trips in Alaska.

If it is less rugged adventure you want, try a fishing package as offered by Sitka Point Lodge and Charters fishing. This luxurious lodge offers complete vacation packages including: transportation, gourmet meals, all licenses, tackle and rain gear. Even throw in a hot tub so you can ease those aching muscles after a hard day of catching fish!

Ah, and if you tire of fishing (not likely) you can always take brown bears, wolves, moose, or humpback whales.

Or just watch a sunset in northern Alaska.

Whatever you choose, Alaska fishing trips are the perfect way to amend its abuses overworked psyche.

We are planning a vacation in Outer Banks, North Carolina. Does anyone have any idea?

We want to know about airlines, rental hire, accommodation, fishing spots and good to eat.

You're a little late to get a car there. Check online with the Outer Banks Realty. They have a website and do a great job. We stayed there about 3 weeks ago. Prices will be about $ 2000 a week for a decent place, but go to look and see what we can find. Will need to travel inland to the airport and get a rental car. It is verrrry nice and relaxing. Have fun.

British Columbia Fishing Lodge

For the fishing adventure of a lifetime, you owe it to yourself to experience the luxury of a unique wilderness fishing Columbia British Holiday Lodge. If you are looking for world-class saltwater fishing for salmon or fly fishing incredible mountain streams and pristine crystal clear, desert, lakes, British Columbia, to offer an incredible variety of fishing adventures in higher education. Moreover, unlike fishing trips for the past days British Columbia fishing lodges offer comfort, luxury and restaurants in the heart of one of the most spectacular wilderness settings in the world.

As you probably know, the Canadian province of British Columbia, BC, or as it is called locally, has one of the largest and most varied areas of pristine wilderness in the world. Is it alright to feed a St. Bernard cooked salmon?

Last night i asked this question and received varying answers, so I would like to be more specific. We are getting a 1 year old St. Bernard today. We live in rural Alaska off of the road system. All of our supplies must be flown in, meaning that there is an extra $25 added to the cost of each bag of dog food we bring out. We live on a lake and subsistance fish for salmon, meaning that we can net as many salmon in the summer as we can personaly consume for the year. The comments i received last night included suggestions for cheaper substitutes to salmon. I want to use salmon as a cheaper substitute to purchased dog food. Hopefully this clarifies my question and you guys can answer me.

Thanks

Cooked salmon is safe (http://www.vetinfo4dogs.com/dtoxin.html#Raw%20Salmon%20poisoning%20Disease) , but it will not provide all the nutrients they will need to be healthy and happy. You can feed them many raw foods and meats. Here’s a page with more info…http://www.flyballdogs.com/cuttingedge/barf.html
