What is the best for largemouth bass topwater lure?
I have had the best results with a Rebel Pop-r. Largemouth I caught in the bone color Pop-r and bright colors. At night, I have had good results with a Arbagast Hula popper and a Jitterbug. Both black. Also makes a lure Heddon good that was called the Maroons, who is recovering with the "walk the dog" technique. If it is a windy day, with a wave in the water, try a Heddon Torpedo. As with all topwater lures, cast the bait close to cover and let sit until the wave dissipates. Then try different retrieves. Slow and fast in the middle. Let the bait pause every few crashes, and usually is when the bass strike. When it hit the lure, wait until you feel the fish pulling lines, and then set the hook. I tried different topwater frogs, and the best in my opinion is the eye of Bronze. Their hooks are better placed and the result in 75% hook when you get a success. I have found the topwater frogs most other bad results are obtained. The fish hit, but hooks only set correctly in 20% of the serious with the frog. Have fun and tight lines.
