Interior Design Ideas – 5 creative ways to show art

You've finally bought your favorite piece of art, but really have no idea where and how shows them? Read on and get some tips on how you can creatively display their art.

Art, leaning against the wall

The wall is not the only place where you can display art. You can simply place the image on the floor and lean against the wall or furniture. Try placing two art pieces of different sizes, one leaning over the other, partially covering the other, but leaving most visible art.

Placing art on a shelf or gallery cornice

You can mount a gallery ledge on the wall and pictures out across the length of it. Random selection of images available some of them with little overlap. Use images of different sizes and put the smaller images on the front. This also applies to pictures placing on the shelf above the fireplace.

Use creative hanging apparatus

Instead of art directly on the wall mounting, use a hanging apparatus to hang your art. This can be done by a horizontal mounting against the wall near the ceiling. Support your picture with 2 ropes. Tie one end of the rope to each corner of the image and the knot the other around the horizontal bar. You can hang 2 or 3 pictures side by side in this way to make it look like a contemporary art installation in the Gallery. Displaying art this way saves your wall from unsightly holes drilled in them.

Use ribbons to suspend art

Use 2 or 3 ribbons with widths thickness running half to three quarters of the length of the wall. Attach one or two images on top of another to the tapes and let it hang. The suspension of the images tape in this way adds a unique touch to the decor of your home. Use ribbons with complimentary themes, like floral motifs. If you want to display the art in this way, use photos that are lightweight so they can be supported by the tapes.

Another creative way of using ribbons to suspend art is to use a tape for each image. Fix one end of the tape at some point on the wall near the ceiling and the other end of the loop through the two corners at the top of the image. Then tie the remaining end of the back tape in the main length of the tape. Setting the tape so that the support to the image resembles a triangle-shaped hook. Just let the suspension image against the wall like that. Also ensure that the strength of the tape can withstand the weight of the image.

Keep all levels

If you are aligning a series of paintings on the wall, draw an imaginary line through the wall to use as a guide. Use a small leveling gauge to check the pictures are level once they are posted.
To prevent photos are leaning to the side, stick double sided tape or adhesive clay to fix the lateral corners to the wall.
