Vintage Lure

Jewelry designers best harvest
Brooches are an art in themselves, but vintage brooches are a unique art. Manufacturing Today can process out brooches and pins by the thousands, one after another, all just alike. The problem is that they lack the character and unique individual attention given by a real artist to create these vintage brooches and pins. Perhaps this is why so many people today are looking for these old parts. Two of the most popular and designer brooch pins were Marcel Boucher and Christian Dior. Who were these designers of the past and why they stand out?
One of the most popular artists was Marcel Boucher. Marcel Boucher was born in Paris in 1898. He joined as an apprentice jeweler Cartier, probably in 1920. Sometime around 1923, was transferred by Marcel Cartier Paris to his studio in New York. After the 1929 crash of Wall Street, fine jewelry fell into a deep recession and Cartier business was severely curtailed. Marcel found a job with another jeweler precious, and I was fortunate to be relatively unaffected by depression. He also did freelance work, mainly in fine jewelry are designed buckles and jewelry for Mazer Brothers, which was excited by the possibilities. In the spring of 1937 was ready to begin your jewelry company fantasy with your partner Halberstadt. The new designs were launched for Fall 1937 / Winter. The first collection consisted of six different designs. She was given the exclusive Saks Fifth Avenue to sell the collection for the first few weeks, before making it available to other major stores. Naturalistic themes in three dimensions with its unusual form enamel, so original after years of "art deco" and designs were so successful that immediately put him on the map his reputation. For the next four years until the U.S. entered World War II, Marcel produced a series of jewelry, which can be described as "very stylish, very elegant and very chic." It is considered to be innovative, bold and fashionable. Perhaps best described as "haute couture" jewelry, and certainly bit at the base imitation of fine jewelry. Marcel was prolific and was responsible for all the designs produced by his company.
Christian Dior is another designer awesomely awesome that it had no real formal training in design and entered the profession later in life. His career began with the learning design of a respected French designer Robert Piguet. Dior Dior opened the house that became immensely popular for its clothing line. Encouraged by this Dior success then branched out into jewelry design extravagant, gorgeous dress, including brooches and pins, such as icons movie star as Betty Davis and Lucille Ball and that eternal symbol of haute couture fashion – the late Jacqueline Kennedy. The House of Dior was the first to use "aurora boreal "in rhinestone costume jewelry. The aurora borealis is a natural weather phenomenon and rhinestones are treated to reflect flashes of color. In some ways the play of light and color is very similar to that found in opals.
In the world of vintage brooches and pins the pieces today designed by the two designers stand out. If a period piece is attached to one of their names is sure to mean the quality and artistic design. The art and the ability design became so popular that it is still happening today in the products they left behind. No wonder that the costume jewelry which bear the name of Dior Boucher are still in high demand. The unique artistic features in their products are beautifully designed, are transferred to the eyes people who use it, and maybe that's why have such eternal appeal to women around the world yesterday, today, and perhaps in the future.
